Tankless Water
Heater
Having a tankless water heater in your home can
definitely help you solve potential problems that you
might face if you have been using traditional water
heaters in the home. Because you use hot water for so
many different purposes at home, such as taking a
shower, doing your dishes or your laundry, hot water
heaters are actually a very integral part of our home
life that we often take for granted.
With traditional water heaters, you will find that once
you have used up the water in the boiling tank, you
immediately run out of a constant flow of hot water.
However, if you use a tankless hot water heater,
you can be assured of an endless flow of hot water. This
is because recent developments in water heater
technology, especially the systems used in an
electric tankless water heater, have changed the way
water is heated.
Tankless water heaters are made with very few parts and
work with a simple heating process that uses a heat
exchanger to heat up the water instantly. As a result,
once you turn on the hot water tap, the heat exchanger
is switched on immediately, thereby heating the water
that goes through it, which results in a constant flow
of hot water. Tankless gas water heaters work the
same way, with the only difference being that gas is
used instead of electricity to power the heat exchanger.
It is well known that heating and cooling appliances
such as ovens and refrigerators, often consume a lot of
electricity, especially when they are left on for long
periods of time. This is the case with traditional hot
water heaters, as the tanks that contain the water to be
heated, need a lot of electricity to generate the heat
needed to function effectively. Tankless water heaters
on the other hand, do not have this problem and require
very little electricity to work, resulting in a 10-50%
reduction in electricity usage, which is largely
dependent on your rate of usage.
Tankless heaters also take up much less space compared
to traditional water heaters, mainly because there is no
tank. This can be an added advantage to individuals who
might be planning on installing a water heater in their
newly furnished homes, as it increases the amount of
space you have available in your bathroom. These are
just some of the reasons why the
tankless water
heater is becoming extremely popular today.
